Corporate Branding

If you have any  business, you might consider branding yourself. “Branding” is creating an identity.

You create a look that makes people automatically think of you, your product or your business when they see it.

Some of the tools of branding are websites, letterhead and business cards, t-shirts and other products, and advertising media. There are great examples of successful branding campaigns. For instance, what do you think of when you see:

  • Red Colour Car
  • Car with a Can
  • Orange Colour Car

Branding is so effective in establishing a market identity that people talk about “brand equity,” meaning, how much the brand is worth to the company. Consider how aggressively Starbucks protects their brand image. The Starbucks name and logo are so valuable to the company that they will go to great lengths to keep other coffee companies from imitating it.

One way larger companies use their brand identity to increase sales is through mobile advertising. They choose people who live in certain areas and go to certain places or activities, and have them drive around in a car wrapped with a clearly identifiable company ad. (If you’re interested in being one of the people driving around, go to www.cashurdrive.com. )

When you do mobile advertising, you need a well established brand identity. You need people to immediately recognize your ad when it rolls past them at 50 Km per hour. The ads that are used for mobile advertising don’t have a lot of copy in them. Mobile ads are traveling billboards of the company’s brand identity.
